BAY FRONT

My hotel was across the street from one of the calmest bays you will ever see. The place that wasn't calm was the sidewalk along side the bay. I had only seen a few three card monte gaes in my life, but here there was game every few feet it was amazing. I Didn't"T join in. Oh, remember the lady that took me to her lodging place? Well, here I was kidnapped and taken to a hotel. At the airport I was waiting for a Taxi when three guys approached to sell me on their hotel. They they had the best place in Bombay, close to everything. I kept saying that I wasn't changing my mind. All of a sudden one guy grabbed my luggage and put it on a bus that the third man had gone to pick up. I lost my luggage once in Argentina and that is awkward. I got on the buss and shook all the way to the hotel, thank God, we got there. It was a nice hotel, but isolated. I complained strongly which probably brought the three guys a bonus.

CALM BEACH

India is not one of my favorite places, but Bombay does have a spectacular beach. Very calm with none of the rollers that we have in California. Even with that, I never saw anyone laying on the sand or playing in the water. Guess they enjoyed three card monte more.

FUN SIGHTS

Finally I got to my hotel which wasn't as nice but closer to where I wanted to be and a much better view across the bay. The real view turned out to be out the other window where there was an exercise studio. Real exercises AND I see no need to go into the other things that I saw.

FOOD IN INDIA

The hotel people told me that if I wanted to eat out, there was a very good restaurant down the street, you can see it here. The food in India was different flavors of curry, which I could never learn to enjoy, even in beautiful new Orleans. But you gotta eat whether you like it or not. I have eaten in at least 50 countries and usually found the food different but enjoyable. Have eaten lots of meals in the country known for it's "Montezumas revenge" Mexico. Everyone that ever eats more than one meal will probably have alimentary problems. But not me, I was called the man with the cast iron stomach. But Not in India, I got and got it bad. My visit to Berlin was much shorter than I wanted, my visit in London was limited to a change of airports. Plans included a visit with my daughters family in N.C. as well as a visit with a friend in Chicago. Both had to be cancelled because of my new appreciation of men's rooms. Finally at home, it took my Dr. three weeks to help me appreciate home cooking.

BANGKOK,THAILAND

The street band reminded me of a trip that I took with my secretary covering the far east countries. Just on the outer edge of Bangkok there is a place rarely seen by tourists, it is called "The Rose Garden". They have trained animal acts including elephants. All very nice, but the high point was the colorful rhythm girls. That form of dancing has become popular in many asian countries now. By the way, the hot spicy food in Bangkok is terrific.

BUDDHA

This was taken in Chedi, a sacred building and symbol of Buddhism. Buddhism is Thailand's main religion. This temple is in Bangkok, but the temples are all over Thailand and is a growing source of income from tourism.
